Holy Week Daily Reading and Reflections

Read: Luke 20:1-8

Reflect: We live as human beings under multiple different authorities. However, as humans we do struggle at times to obey authority. Why do you believe the people questioned Jesus’ authority? Do you and I live questioning Jesus’ authority today? As sons and daughters of God we do need to live by faith trusting that the authority Jesus has over us is good.

Prayer: Lord, we trust your authority over our lives. May we repent in moments where we have not trusted your authority. Allow our obedience to inspire others.

Action step: Share a faith organization’s posts, Facebook page, and help spread awareness about what God is doing in this world.

Holy Week Daily Reading and Reflections

Holy Week is upon us!

Pastor Brian has put together daily reading and reflections, these will be emailed out each morning (there are also paper copies here at the church in the sanctuary).

Sunday Evening:

Read: Luke 19:45-48

Reflect: In this text Jesus cleanses the temple, reminds the money changers that God’s house is meant for worship and not getting rich, and sets in motion the events of His final week. How do you and I treat God’s house? While the presence of God is not confined to just 2nd Ave GMC we should treat the church with reverence and respect. However, may we see our church as a space that draws others to worship and a life of discipleship. How can we use our space better to worship God and draw others into His presence?

Prayer: Lord, we know that you are everywhere may we experience your presence in worship, praise, and throughout the world. AMEN

Action: Take a prayer walk this evening or tomorrow.
