Happy Veterans Day to all those who served! We thank you for your sacrifices and service. 

We hope you can join us Sunday for our message “Grateful Generosity: Sow Generously” 2 Corinthians 9:6-15. Services at 8:15 & 10:45 am as well as Sunday school for all ages at 9:30 am.

Beginning this Sunday, kids participating in the pageant will be dismissed right at the beginning of the service to allow them enough time to practice. 

The kids are also in need of snacks for during their practice time; small waters are needed, the kids are also asking for Fruit By The Foot and some other items which we have on the 2^nd Ave Kids Amazon Wish List (linked here).

If you’d like to sponsor a ROCK Christmas Gift, please take an envelope from the bulletin board in the Elevation Room.  There are close to 100 kids registered for the year and we want to make sure to have a gift for each child! (The ROCK is still looking for volunteers to help on Wednesday evenings as the program is seeing their largest numbers ever. Please reach out to Ashley if you would like more information on helping)

Next Sunday from 8:30 – 10:30 am, The Youth will be holding a pancake breakfast in the social hall. All are welcome. Donations will be accepted.

There is still some time to sign up for the Indoor Yard Sale being held Saturday, November 19^th (you are responsible for set up, tear down and take away of any unsold items as well as your own money, etc.)  There is a $10 (or more) donation per table and these proceeds will benefit the ROCK.

We will need to begin decorating for Advent and Christmas the week of November 21^st (it most likely will have to be in the daytime as the building is used in the evenings for various things)–if you are interested in helping, please reach out to Pastor Brian. 

Voting will be taking place in the Narnia Room tomorrow, November 8^th.  If you need to come to the church for any reason other than if this is your polling place, please make sure to use the 2nd Street door so we do not interrupt the voting process for anyone.  

The church office will be closed Thursday, November 24 ^th, Friday, November 25^th and Monday, November 28^th for the Thanksgiving holiday.  

The ROCK Christmas gift envelopes are located on the bulletin board in the Elevation Room. With the largest amount of kids at the ROCK ever, your help is needed to provide each child a gift as has been done for many years!  Please contact Ashley with any questions.

Just a reminder that poinsettia orders are due with payment to the church office no later than Sunday, Dec. 4th (no late orders can be taken). Order form attached!

Join us Sunday as we continue our series “The Big Finish” with this week’s message Truth?  (Matthew 7:15-23)

This Sunday will be the last Sunday with Jr. Church being held at our 10:45 service until after Christmas. Sunday, October 30^th Christmas Pageant practice will begin during this time. All kids age 4 – 5th grade are invited to participate. They will need to attend at least 5 of the next 7 Sundays to participate.  Please contact Ashley with any questions ashleymiller1228@gmail.com (or if you’d like to help with the pageant).  

Advanced Tai Chi for folks 60+ will begin this Wednesday at 9:30 (til 10:15) here at the church.  Open to the public.  

Friday, October 28^th is our Food Pantry. If you’d like to donate any non-perishable items, please drop them off on the social hall stage on Sunday or call to make arrangements to drop off during office hours. 

The Youth Group will host a lock-in for kids in Jr/Sr High here at the church on Friday, November 11^th.  Please contact a Youth leader for more information.  

There will be an indoor yard sale here in the gym on Saturday, November 19^th. If you’d like to set up items to sell, there is a $10 per table donation requested, proceeds will benefit The ROCK. Please see Wendy Cornelius for more information or to sign up.

Chiz Rider will be here at both services to share some special music following the message. (Please note, Pastor Brian will be here and be preaching. We’ve had some folks ask about this)

Chiz will be back here at 6:00 pm for a free concert, all are welcome.  The Youth Group will have a sloppy joe meal available for purchase and some fall activities in the social hall from 4:00 – 5:30 pm.

This will be the last Sunday to purchase ROCK Spaghetti Dinner tickets, they will also be available to purchase in the office through Thursday, October 20^th. The meal will be served from noon-2:00 pm (dine in or take out) on Sunday, October 23^rd.

The monthly luncheon is tomorrow (Saturday, October 15^th) from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm.  This lunch is free and all are welcome.

We hope you can join us Sunday as we celebrate World Communion Sunday at both the 8:15/10:45 worship services. Each service will feature special music during the Communion time.

Our Food Pantry is today (Friday 9/30) beginning at 11:00 am, open to any Blair County residents in need.

Did you purchase your ticket for the ROCK Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser?!  Join us for a wonderful meal on Sunday, Oct. 23^rd after the 10:45 service. Ron has a sign up sheet on the round table in the sanctuary for folks to prepare soups & also to help out at the October luncheon. Please see Ron if you have any questions.

Save the date! Chiz Rider will be here on Sunday, October 16^th for a free concert in the sanctuary at 6:00 pm. The Youth Group will be having food available for purchase and some games, etc. in the social hall prior to the concert from 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm.

Our Youth Ministries are back up and running for the 2022-23 year. Youth Sunday school for kids 6^th – 12^th grade is from 9:30 am – 10:30 am in the Youth Room (upstairs across from the balcony) and Youth Group meets Sunday evenings from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm for 6^th – 12^th graders.

The ROCK kicked off on Wednesday with 41 kids the first night!  If you are looking for a way to help support the ROCK, consider purchasing a Spaghetti Dinner tickets. The fundraiser meal will be held Sunday, October 23^rd from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm.  For $10 you will get spaghetti, choice of sausage or meatball, roll, side salad & dessert.  You can dine in following church or take your meal to go. Tickets available during office hours and on Sundays.

Save the Date! Sunday October 16^th we will be hosting a free concert by Chiz Rider at 6:00 pm.  All are welcome.  The Youth Group will also be hosting a small Fall Fest in the social hall prior to the concert from 4:00 pm – 5:30 PM. Food will be available for purchase.  Please see Pastor Brian for more information.

The ROCK begins Wednesday!  4:30 pm – 7 pm.  All kids age 4 through 12^th grade welcome for a home-cooked meal, age appropriate lessons, crafts, games, gym time and more!  Contact Ashley with any questions at ashleymiller1228@gmail.com

The ROCK will be having a spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Sunday, October 23^rd from 12:00 pm -2 pm.  Tickets are $10 and must be purchased ahead of time in the church office or on Sundays.  Dine in or take out. All proceeds benefit the ROCK.

This Saturday, September 17^th is our monthly luncheon from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm.  All are welcome.

Sunday, September 18^th is the clothing pick up at the Jaffa. Please plan to meet around 5:00 pm at the Jaffa to transport clothing back to 2^nd Ave for the Hope Chest. 

The Food Pantry shelves are bare!  If you have any extra (in-date) nonperishables you’d like to donate, please bring them on Sundays or call the church office to set up a time to drop off.  

Please let us know if you’d like to volunteer to read scripture, be a greeter, communion server, or help in another way during Sunday services.

Just a reminder, we have Martins grocery gift cards for sale; 5% of your purchase gets donated back to the church.

The Food Pantry date has been changed back to Sept. 30^th, so please ignore the date change sent earlier in the week. Going forward the Pantry will be the last Friday of the month.

ROCK VOLUNTEERS REMINDER! There will be a brief meeting in the social hall Sunday, following the 10:45 service. Please plan to attend, if you cannot make it let Ashley know ahead of time, ashleymiller1228@gmail.com so she can talk with you about the plans for Wednesday.

The ROCK begins Wednesday!  Any kids age 4 through 12^th grade are welcome to attend 4:30 pm -7:00 pm.b. Kids will be given a home cooked meal, have age appropriate lessons, games, arts & crafts and more.

 *Reminder, if child did not attend school for any reason, was sent home from school or shows any signs/symptoms of a cold, flu, stomach issues, has a fever, etc. They are not allowed to attend the ROCK that evening and will be sent home if they do arrive at the ROCK with any of these symptoms*

-We offer several adult classes during the 9:30 am – 10:30 am Sunday School hour; please contact the church office more info. on adult classes.

-2nd Ave Kids (age 4 through 5^th grade) meet in the upstairs balcony classroom; please do not drop kids off prior to 9:30

-Youth Sunday School meets in the upstairs Youth room for kids 6^th – 12^th grade
