Do you believe God gets what God wants?
At creation God intended to create us and fellowship with us. We are told God walked with Adam and Eve in the cool of the garden. This is God’s desire to be with you and me.
We know that the world today is not paradise like at the beginning. However, though the work of Jesus Christ, God is with us though the indwelling of God’s Holy Spirit. But there is more. God’s plan is to save us and all creation. Paul in Romans 8 tells us,
“The whole creation waits breathless with anticipation for the revelation of God’s sons and daughters.” – CEB
God does get what God wants. There is coming a day, at the return of the King, when God will renew creation – a new heaven and new earth (Revelation 21). We, in new resurrection bodies, will again walk with God. God does get what God wants – and God wants us!
Are we living into this reality. Have we designed our life plans around the truth of our returning king?
In John’s vision of the day King Jesus returns, Jesus says,
“Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done.”
Followers of King Jesus, work to prepare for the return of the king. This is our purpose and our priority. We arrange our lives around this truth. Over the next two Sundays we we’ll look at specifically WHAT we do to work for the Return of the King and then HOW we do that work.
